new lake (Beaver Dam Lake?), new adventures

Beaver Dam Lake??

Had another adventure with T and the boys. Right behind the cottage road is a path that leads to what you imagine would be a swamp. Turns out it's a pretty extensive lake, with these meandering channels that weave between marshy areas. Paddled out for about an hour, found a tiny little island we could picnic on, had something to eat, and came back. Gotta go check that out again later.

Check out the pictures in my gallery. They say more than my blog will.

Cool things we saw:

  • carnivorous plants ( a pitcher plant, plus one more like a Venus Flytrap, with sticky little tentacles to catch small flies)
  • a fish eagle
  • J saw a momma bear with three cubs
