Captain's Log

With two small kids my time for outdoor adventure has diminished. However I'm now trying to find activities that will suit my new lifestyle. This blog will follow my outdoor pursuits in general and this year will focus a lot on my experimentation with sailing.

Surfing in the British Virgin Islands

Map of the BVI's

So next Sunday Anke, Avery and I are off to the BVI's for a week. We are really looking forward to getting away for a week and enjoying some sun and fun. We are going with three other couples to celebrate our friend's 40th birthday.

On the adventure front we will be doing a bunch of things. 1. We have chartered a 46 foot sailboat for the day and will be getting a taste for the sailing life. 2. I plan on finding as many good snorkeling locations as I can. 3. For one of the days the guys want to go off and find some good surfing locations. I'm not sure how good the surf will be but I will report back and add it to ootboot.

For a look at surfing in the BVI's take a look at the video! Its NOT me (god knows I'm not that good) but it does give you a good idea that there is some good surf in the BVI's!
