Meet stars of Everest at Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation Gala

Here's your chance to meet some of the greatest Everest climbers and support a good cause at the same time. Part of the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation Gala & Auction, presented by Coast Mountain Sports, is a meet and greet on Thursday October 23 at the Calgary Coast Mountain Sports store (817 10th Ave. SW, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm). Among the celebrities on hand will be Appa Sherpa, legendary eighteen-time Everest summitter, Ang Dorje Sherpa, twelve-time Everest summitter, and Peter Hillary, Everest summiteer and son of Sir Edmund Hillary.

The main event gala and auction, also sponsored by Coast Mountain, will be in the evening at the Fairmont Pallisser Hotel in downtown Calgary. The net proceeds from The Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation of Canada Net will go to continue the funding and operation of the Everest area Khunde Hospital, providing medical assistance in the surrounding areas, providing assistance in the establishment of educational facilities and promoting conservation through reforestation projects.
