Explore writer, David Leach, wins big at the Banff Mountain Book Festival

David Leach, a writer and friend of Explore Magazine, just won big at the Banff Mountain Book Festival. Cool stuff. The festival received 113 entries from nine countries. David’s book Fatal Tide: When the Race of a Lifetime Goes Wrong won the Special Jury Award, and it’s well deserving. This is a great book that examines the nature of adventure, risk and responsibility through a tragic story. David’s writing style has proven to be accessible to those who know little about the sport of adventure racing but also a gripping narrative to those who are well aware of such a lifestyle. Way to go David.
