Greenland Adventure Race
The Greenland Adventure Race is one of the most distinctive multi-discipline races in the world. Taking place over five days, it consists of 40 km kayaking through frigid fjords, 50 km of mountainbiking and 90 km of on-foot traverses and runs. The race begins at Narsarsuaq, and wraps up in Igaliku.
It involves glacier crossings with ice picks and "ski sticks," [citation needed] more than 1,000 metres of elevation changes, and dramatic scenery such as immense waterfalls and wildlife such as seals.
2007 dates are September 5-12.
