Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s most renowned mountains. It’s located in northern Tanzania, just over the border from Kenya. It’s height is approximately 4,600 metres (15,000 feet) from base to tip.

Uhuru Peak, at 5,895 metres above sea level, is the highest point in Africa. The mountain is the world’s highest free-standing mountain (meaning it’s not part of a set of connected mountains). This fact is what makes Kilimanjaro so picturesque when viewed from a distance.
