mountaintrips.ca is a new website designed for sharing information about upcoming trips in the mountains. The site is intended both for the people looking to join a trip, and for people looking to fill spots on a trip.

The backcountry lodge industry has specific challenges when it comes to available spaces. Sometimes the lodge owner is in charge of filling a particular week with guests, sometimes it is a guide who has booked to hut, and sometimes it is a guest who is bringing the entire group for that week. That makes it difficult for all the parties to figure out who has openings available, and it can be a bit of a chase to get down to the person who was actually in charge of taking the bookings for a particular week at a particular lodge. mountaintrips.ca hopes to become a central location where this information can be shared.
